Colour Photography of Retina
Colour photographs of the retina are taken for retina conditions such as Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinal Vein Occlusions. The photos will show the condition of the retina, macula (central part of the retina), blood vessels and the optic disc (the front part of the nerve of the eyeball), and are used for monitoring of the condition of the patient’s retina.
Optical Coherence Tomography Imaging of Retina
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) of retina uses advanced technology and light to analyse the layers of the retina and vitreous (jelly inside eyeball). It is used when patients have conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, epiretinal membrane and macular hole.
Autofluorescence Imaging of Retina
Autofluorescence (AF) imaging uses advanced technology and light to analyse the retina pigment epithelium (the deepest layer of the retina) and other layers of the retina. It is used for eye conditions which can be inherited, for example such as macular degeneration.
Angiography of the Retina
Angiography of the retina uses coloured dyes such as fluorescein or indocyanine green dye and is used to analyse the retinal and choroidal blood vessel. It is used for conditions such as macular degenerations, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions.
Ultrasound of Eye
Ultrasound of the eye is used to assess the structures within the eyeball when the view of the inside of the eyeball is poor from dense cataract or vitreous haemorrhage (bleeding). It is also used to check abnormal growths within the eye.
Humphrey Automated Perimetry
Humphrey Automated Perimetry is used to assess the visual field (range of vision where a person can see) and is used for conditions such as glaucoma and stroke of the nerve.
Optical Coherence Tomography of Anterior Segment
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Imaging uses advanced technology and light to analyse the front part of the eye including the cornea, angles between cornea and iris and is used in conditions such as glaucoma.
Optical Coherence Tomography of Optic Disc & Retina Nerve Fibre Layer
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Imaging uses advanced technology and light to analyse the optic disc (front part of the nerve of the eye) and retina nerve fibre layer and is used in conditions such as glaucoma.
Colour Photography of Anterior Segment
Colour Photography of front part of the eye is taken for conditions relating to the eyelid and cornea.
